ABOUT US

We met in 2002 while both attending school at Virginia Tech. On our first date, the seatbelt in McLean's Jeep jammed and Kevin nearly became a permanant fixture in her vehicle. We can only guess it was a sign that we were meant to be together! After graduation, we relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina and in 2005 were married in a small church in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

McLean grew up in the small town of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, where she developed a great love for animals, the outdoors and music. She's the oldest of three sisters, the others whom still reside in Mt. Airy. She admits to loving shopping (clothes, shoes, bags . . . anything at PetSmart) and can't wait until Thursday nights to watch Grey's Anatomy.

Kevin was born in Chicago and lived there several years before moving to Washington, DC. He has an older brother out in California, and two younger brothers in Virginia. In addition to outdoor activities, he enjoys listening to - and even writing - music, and spends far too much time watching and reading about sports (it's something to do while McLean is out shopping.)

Both of us enjoy getting outside whenever possible and the mild winters and warm summers of Charlotte are great. On weekends we're often out biking, hiking, camping or playing tennis. In addition, we both love traveling. We would some day love to visit the safaris of Africa! During the fall you'll also find us in Blacksburg, Virginia rooting on Virginia Tech football.

When we're not on the go, you might find us working on the house or jamming to the music of the Dave Matthews Band, U2, or Counting Crows.

McLean works as a lab technician for the American Red Cross, and Kevin is a technology project manager with Bank of America.
